2024: The Summer of Round Bales

This year has brought some unexpected challenges for our pasture – and for us. Typically, during the lush summer months and well into the autumn, our animals graze on vibrant, fresh green grass. But after a dry spring, our fields produced little more than pokeweed - which, unfortunately, no one here at Serendipity Farm Sanctuary, not even the goats, will eat!

Because of this, every week we’ve had to bring in two large round bales of hay to ensure that everyone stays well-fed. It’s been an unexpected expense, adding strain to our budget. But ensuring that all our sanctuary residents - from the tiniest chickens to our sweet mellow cows - are happy and healthy is always our top priority.

Despite the added cost, we've managed to keep every belly full and every animal thriving. We’re proud of the care we provide and grateful for the financial and volunteer support that helps us through challenges like these.

Thank you for standing by us as we continue to nurture and care for the animals of Serendipity Farm Sanctuary!
